Music Review: Kaaki Sattai (Tamil)

The title song's punchy rock-based arrangements make for a nice intro and Vishal Dadlani totally owns the song with his peppy rendition. Anirudh teams up with Shakthisree Gopalan for a captivating melody in Kadhal Kan Kattudhe, the arresting accordion-guitar-flute-veena blend working wonders for the song. If the dubstep-based Trooper Theme and the feverish Kaaki Sattai Theme, with its saxophone bits, are too short to make any impact, the folky Kattikida is Andony Dasan's show all the way. The composer's trademark style is evident in the spiffy hip-hop number Shake That, and more so, if I may say, in I'm So Cool, assembling a funky and addictive mix of electronic elements that is hard not to groove to. Anirudh Ravichander whips up a hyper-energetic fare with Kaaki Sattai, in what can be called his best work this year!
