Music Review: Daawat-e-Ishq (Hindi)
Composer(s): Sajid-Wajid

Javed Ali and Sunidhi Chauhan rock the catchy qawwali'esque title song, with the harmonium and tabla too perfectly complementing the song in the background. The middle-eastern styled Mannat, in two versions sung by Sonu Nigam and Shreya Ghoshal, has quite serious intonations than is necessary for a romantic ballad, but is still an adequate listen. Rangreli, with its predominant brass-dhol mix, is a formulaic dance number, while the guitar'y soft-rock melody Shayarana has some fab vocals from Shalmali Kholgade and marks a departure from what we have seen from the composers of late. Aside from the electric guitar-folk fusion, Jaadu Tone Waaliyan is your customary Punjabi track offering little by way of new. Daawat-e-Ishq may be a Feast of Love, but is definitely not a Musical Feast!
