Music Review: Student of the Year

Aside from lamenting the creative bankruptcy, The Disco Song is a pulsating listen effortlessly backed by Benny Dayal and Sunidhi Chauhan. Radha belies its slow start with a peppy makeover that gains immensely from Shreya Ghoshal, Udit Narayan and Vishal's exuberant singing. Ishq Wala Love is undoubtedly the pick of the soundtrack, a delectable free flowing melody that almost sounds like a slow version of A. R. Rahman's Kadhalikum Pennin. Kukkad and the hip-hop-dubstep mishmash Vele turn out to be groovy, while Ratta Maar is breezy and invigorating, thanks to Vishal Dadlani and Shefali Alvares. Student of the Year is very much the party soundtrack, but stops short of being memorable.
