Music Review: Saattai

Jada Jada Jaada is nicely composed and the kids in particular do a marvelous job of the singing. Employing violin to great effect, Shreya Ghoshal rules the mellifluous Sahaayane, while the folky Andhurundai Kannazhagi is quite catchy. Adi Raangi, sung by Santhosh Hariharan and Anitha, opens on a very Ilaiyaraaja'esque note but the sweeping melody becomes its own with Imman's brilliant orchestration. Nanbaa Vaa Nanbaa is fairly adequate, but considerably weaker of the lot, even as the closer Serene Grace rides on a soundscape that blends strings and other orchestral elements to fantastic effect. Imman goes from strength to strength with Saattai.
