Music Review: Yatchan (Tamil)

Parapara, its Hey Salaa (Aegan) touches aside, is peppy, and Vijay Yesudas and Ranjith lend superb vocal purchase to the energetic percussive number. Konjalaai, on the other hand, is trademark Yuvan melody, high on auto-tune and electronic sounds, while Kaakaponnu, despite being saddled with a passable tune, makes up for it in the orchestration department with an interesting mix of hip-hop and folk elements. The sombre Innum Enna likewise shows promise in terms of arrangements, but Yuvan's voice sadly doesn't make the cut. Champion brings the curtains down on the soundtrack, its trendy hip-hop beats and PSYCHO.unit's rendition elevating the tune every bit. Yuvan Shankar Raja, though in much better form, has seen better days.
