Music Review: Lailaa O Lailaa (Malayalam)

Gopi Sundar concocts an enjoyable medley of ghatam, veena and strings for the sombre Nanayumee Mazha, but Sithara's singing leaves a lot to be desired. Najeem Arshad and Radhika Narayanan take the stunning ghazal'ish melody Rathri Mulla Than to a whole new level with their impeccable vocals, the song's Kandukondain Kandukondain vibes notwithstanding. Meharuba is an intriguing jazzy piece with all that accompanying trumpets and is sung very well by Preethi Bella. Maruhaba (Hari Shankar) in contrast gets a breezy pop treatment, and the Yeh Mera Dil-like Dil Divana is catchy disco stuff. Gopi Sundar hits the bulls eye with Lailaa O Lailaa!
