Book Review: No Place to Run

The Hollows, the previous book from mark Edwards, was a disappointment despite its eerie backdrop about an unsolved crime that took place decades ago. Reading it felt as if there was a good book in there somewhere, only for it to turn into a vanilla tale that ends being more of a slog than a shocker. Edwards' latest outing, No Place to Run, continues the same sorry pattern. The novel, deliving into the mysterious disappearnce of Aidan's teenage sister Scarlett during her visit to Seattle, starts off really strong, but soon squanders its potential and becomes a rote exercise, dwindling from convincing to convenient and leading to a conclusion that's as predictable as it's far-fetched. Talk about intriguing ideas that are poorly developed!
