Book Review: Into the Dark

A dark and twisted tale set against the backdrop of an affluent coastal utopia, Into the Dark is a humdinger. It's a suspenseful psychological thriller in which the themes of toxic relationships, coercive control and complex dynamics between friends are constellated around an emotionally astute exploration of identity, deception and obsession. Fiona Cummins manages this tangle of threads with ingenious plotting and stand-out characters, quickening the pace of dramatic revelations till the final pages. It's a riddle of a story full of brilliant misdirection, beautifully set-out clues, and a fittingly satisfying payoff.
