Music Review: Ante Sundaraniki (Telugu)
Composer(s): Vivek Sagar
Listen to the songs online here: JioSaavn
Vivek Sagar gets carnatic music singer Aruna Sairam to croon The Panchakattu Song, who smashes the wacky tune with the right amount of zing. Entha Chithram's soaring harmonies and Celtic flourishes (the fiddle is a nice touch!) find their perfect counterpoint in singers Anurag Kulkarni and Keerthana Vaidyanathan, even as Vivek Sagar complements the composition with layers of strings and a quietly propulsive rhythm that transmutes the piece to something uplifting. Rango Ranga builds out its folky foundations with an array of carefully placed classical music elements and an insistent electronic groove, while Thandanaanandha has Shankar Mahadevan and Shweta Mohan leading the spirited folk-inflected rock tune. In Ante Sundaraniki, Vivek Sagar once again takes varied elements and pushes them into exciting new directions.
