Listen: The Staves' "Trying"

British sibling trio The Staves have been lying under the radar since releasing a collaborative album, The Way Is Read, with yMusic back in 2017, but the group finally made a return last month with the exceedingly pretty Nazareth. The Staveley-Taylor sisters have now followed it up with a new low-key track called Trying, a song about "the state of things in the world and how broken our ability to communicate with each other had become as a society" that stacks gorgeous harmonies against their swelling vocals while a gentle plucked instrumentation provides affecting company.
