Listen: Four Tet's "4T Recordings"

Last week saw the return of Dan Snaith, and now it looks like fellow electronic sound sculpting veteran Four Tet is staging a comeback too — for Kieran Hebden has revealed that the new LP Sixteen Oceans, a follow-up to his 2017 New Energy, will be out next week (3/13), while sharing an ambient third slice of the album, called 4T Recordings, which will join the likes of Teenage Birdsong and Ellie Goulding collab Baby. The song unfurls slowly but steadily, incorporating a collage of chopped up vocals, gleaming bleeps and bird chirps that acts as a charming reveille, unwinding with ambient washes of sound, all shimmering synths and hints of melody.
