Music Review: Jacobinte Swargarajyam (Malayalam)
Composer(s): Shaan Rahman
Listen to the songs online here: Saavn
Vineeth Sreenivasan and Kavya Ajit join hands together for the delectable stringy melody Ee Shishirakaalam, and in the traditional onapattu Thiruvaavaniraavu, composer Shaan Rahman makes us wonder where the hell Unni Menon had been all this while. Vineeth Sreenivasan comes back a second time singing the immensely harmonious and tuneful Dubai (the song might as well be used to promote Dubai tourism, not that the city cannot do without it!), even as Home, in Ashwin Gopakumar's fabulous rendition, channels the serene, country feels to fantastic effect. Ennilerinju is perhaps a little musically divergent from the rest of the tracks, but Shaan assembles an addictive rap-carnatic fusion that finds its perfect match in Rzee and Sithara Krishnakumar's top-notch vocals. The inimitable Shaan Rahman-Vineeth Sreenivasan combo strikes yet again in style with a melody-heavy Jacobinte Swargarajyam.
