Music Review: Sethupathi (Tamil)
Composer(s): Nivas K. Prasanna

Mazhai Thooralam (Police Anthem) is evidently theme material but rousing nonetheless, as it should be, and melodious too, if I may add. The folksy Konji Pesida Venaam is fabulously catchy, despite its sort of dated tune, and you cannot but help fall in love with K. S. Chithra and Sriram Parthasarathy's top-notch singing. Hey Mama sounds like a curious mix of Main Hoon Don at places, the excursions into Tamil folk notwithstanding, as Anirudh Ravichander holds fort in his typical laidback singing style. Karthik and Saindhavi lend rock-solid vocal support to the mellifluous if predictable Hawa Hawa, and in Thaen Kootil, V. M. Mahalingam dishes out pathos quite very well in an otherwise decent situational song. Nivas K. Prasanna's sophomore outing lacks Thegidi's punch, yet it's eminently listenable.
