Heavy Rotation: Billie Marten, Disclosure, Janet Jackson & More

Heavy Weather, BURNITUP! and Nocturnal top this week's list of my favourites...

Heavy Weather (Billie Marten) - I can't believe Billie Marten is just fifteen. Undoubtedly one of the most exciting finds I made this year, and the song is absolute perfection.

True (Chad Valley) - A mellow electronic fest, addictive, dreamy, groovy and upbeat.

No Harm Is Done ft. Tunji Ige (Christine and the Queens) - Amidst all that relaxing electronic sounds is a beautiful melody, one that's deeply atmospheric.

All Your Favorite Bands (Dawes) - A soul-soothing folk tune, coupled by some wonderful guitars.

Nocturnal, Holding On (Disclosure, The Weeknd, Gregory Porter) - Easily the standouts of Disclosure's latest album Caracal. Nocturnal notably is as much trancey and trippy as it's about insomnia and staying awake like a nocturnal animal, like a caracal.

BURNITUP! ft. Missy Elliott (Janet Jackson) - Janet Jackson heats and burns it up, in true Michael Jackson style.

I Don't Mind (Keeps) - Guitars and synths come together in this gorgeous woozy single from the Nashville-based indie outfit.

Empire (Of Monsters And Men) - Can a hook get any better than it's in Empire? The soaring chorus from the Icelandic folk quintet is just astounding.

Locked Away ft. Adam Levine (R. City) - Nothing like good old reggae to get your foot tapping!

Regular World (Spirit Animal) - Like their name, the spirited, explosive single bursts open like a feral animal. Epic banger of a song!

Pony (Wavves) - An uptempo guitary punk fare from Nathan Williams and co. that's fun while it lasts.

Weak (Wet) - A moving melody in Kelly Zutrau's heartfelt rendition.
