Music Review: Madras Cafe (Hindi)
Composer(s): Shantanu Moitra
Film: Madras Cafe
Papon nails Sun Le Re with his stupendous rendition, the soft rock flavored arrangement being the track's highpoint. Its pacier Reprise version works equally well, if not better. Ajnabee is pure bliss, and the minimalist orchestration nicely complements Zebunnisa Bangash's gorgeous vocals. The endearing Khud Se has some amazing violin work, backed by Papon's first-rate rendition. If the instrumentals Conspiracy and Entry to Jaffna are situational in nature, Madras Cafe theme is simply terrific as it works its way to a crescendo. The second Title theme builds upon the previous song, but with a predominant violin touch that switches gears midway to lend it a dark foreboding feel. Madras Cafe has some great tunes, and some great music.
