Music Review: Sanam Re (Hindi)

Amaal Mallik's Gazab Ka Hai Yeh Din is breezy guitary melody, well done in Arijit Singh's rendition, but Hua Hain Aaj Pehli Baar is somewhat of a 90's-styled dated affair. However Amaal's third and final offering Kya Tujhe Ab Ye Dil Bataye adequately brings in a touch of melancholy with its moody arrangements. Epic Bhangra's Humne Pee Rakhi Hai throws in every imaginable party number cliche to recreate Sunny Sunny (Yaariyan) all over again, an epic lame effort that goes in vain. Mithoon's Tere Liye and Sanam Re veer between mawkish and mellifluous, with Jeet Gannguli's Tum Bin and Chhote Chhote Tamashe likewise flip-flopping between languid and fun. Sanam Re, a Bollywood soundtrack as typical as it can get.
