If Saala Khadoos was more forceful of a song in Vishal Dadlani's voice, its Tamil equivalent Poda Poda is a little shorter by 13 seconds (the opening Oo Oo humming is noticeably absent), while having a pronounced folksy touch to it (is it that Pradeep Kumar factor?). Dhee Venka does admirably well in the lilting Usuru Narambulay (Kalyani Nair did feel a tad out of place in Dhuaan Hai Dhuaan Zindagi), and even more so in Ey Sandakaara, her voice fitting like a glove to the song's earthy flavour. Sean Roldan (in place of Sunidhi Chauhan) croons the blues'y kuthu Vaa Machaney in his inimitable style, with the enthusiastic rock number Maya Visai perfectly matching Jagaa Khunnas step by step. Santhosh Narayanan spellbinds as is the norm with Irudhi Suttru, which I feel is a notch better than its Hindi counterpart.
