One can feel the unmistakable Ilaiyaraaja touches in Chota Bheema, Tham Tham and the rock n' roll'ish Kaattukulla Kannakkatti (great singing by Anand), and in the soft, serene Pookkalai Killi Vandhu, Yazin Nizar's heartfelt rendition adds to its emotional heft. The theme song is my pick of the lot, not only for its gorgeous violins (like he did in Pisaasu), but also for its fabulous free-flowing melodic quotient. Amrit, Sam C. S. and now Arrol Corelli, this October is turning out to be a great month for debutants!
