More than three years after Golden Hour, American singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist returns to set the scene with star-crossed, which features in her upcoming album of the same name (9/10). "Two lovers ripped right at the seams/ They woke up from the perfect dream/ And then the darkness came," Musgraves sings against a sparse, mournful backdrop of harp and Latin'esque guitars, as it builds and swells into a wall of burbling electronics.
