Singer and multi-instrumentalist Sufjan Stevens has been on a roll off late. Less than a year ago came Ascension, then it was followed by the five-part instrumental collection Convocations, and now arrives yet another full-length with his frequent collaborator Angelo De Augustine. Reach Out and Olympus, which are set to feature in A Beginner's Mind (9/25), mark a return to his gentler, acoustic roots, with the pair's tender vocals going hand in hand with the delicate instrumentation, lending the enchanting harmonies a dreamlike, hazy quality.
