Music Review: Namma Veettu Pillai (Tamil)
Composer(s): D. Imman

A run-of-the-mill effort from Imman that's by now more a rote exercise than something geuinely exciting. Gaandakannazhagi rides on an arrangement that evokes Saree Ke Fall Sa, but Anirudh Ravichander and Neeti Mohan's lively rendition helps it tide over the tedium. The déjà vu aspect has a more telling effect in Yenga Annan and Mailaanji, and the stereotype shows, disappointingly so. Namma Veettu Pillai is a masala fare from Imman that hits all predictable — but not the right — buttons.
