Composer(s): Arjunna Harjaie, Mychael Danna, Rochak Kohli, Tanishk Bagchi

Close on the heels of Qaidi Band comes another film about a gang of jail inmates forming a music band, and the results, well, are same and different. Same, for the incorporation of folk rock (Kaavaan Kaavaan, Baaki Rab Pe Chhod De) and a cappella elements (Teen Kabootar), and different when it comes to melodies, with Arjunna Harjaie's Rangdaari going for a simple bhajan-like vibe and Rochak Kohli's Meer-E-Kaarwan riding on a serene qawwali'esque tune that brings to mind Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy's Mitwa. Lucknow Central works, if only in fits and starts, the highlight being Meer-E-Kaarwan.
