Music Review: Fifty Shades of Grey OST (English)
Well, one thing is for sure. The soundtrack of the much anticipated movie adaptation of Fifty Shades of Grey is turning out to be way much better than I had anticipated. The Weeknd's Earned it, with its romantic musings, is soft, trance-like and rides very well on Abel Tesfaye's pitch-perfect vocals. Ellie Goulding, who features on the electropop-based Love Me Like You Do, does what she does best, singing an anthemic ballad of sorts and her sweet, delicate voice gives it a vulnerable touch given the BDSM theme of the movie. The dreamy Salted Wound is too haunting to ignore, for Sia beautifully captures the emotions (this is about Christian Grey I'm guessing) with her raw singing. Beyonce's Haunted, also included in the track list, is aptly trippy and loungish (Her second offering, a reworked version of Crazy in Love is yet to be released though). I know You likewise simply stuns, benefiting immensely from a wonderful sensuous tune and Skylar Grey's passionate rendition.
