Music Review: Rowdy Fellow (Telugu)
Composer(s): Sunny M. R.
Listen to the songs online here: Gaana
Arijit Singh and Aditi Singh Sharma, with Sunny's rocking guitar work in the background, pull off a fab job in Ra Ra Rowdy. Uyyalaina Jampalaina's Harshika Gudi joins hands with Armaan Malik in the Iktara'ish haunting melody Yedo, the guitars once again sporting the highlight. The wonderful guitar-based Aa Seetadevi Navvula is serene and plain gorgeous (is it santoor at the start?), and Arijit Singh hits all the right notes with his flawless singing. Nakash Aziz and Natasha Pinto ace Yentha Vaaru Gaani, the commendably reworked oldie Bar Bar Dekho, and in Red & Yellow, the mighty interesting guitar-veena fusion is adequately supported by Shalmali Kholgade and Samrat Kaushal. Call of the Rowdy's trippy dubstep cum Ra Ra Rowdy rehash is very much catchy and ends the album on an exuberant note. Sunny M. R. continues to impress with Rowdy Fellow, but did you notice that except for Harshika everyone else is a Bollywood playback singer, not that I'm complaining!
