Music Review: Casanovva

Rosshan Andrrews' latest outing with Mohanlal, Casanovva sees three composers in action. Gopi Sundar's Omanichumma (Karthik, Kalyani, Vineeth Sreenivasan et al) evokes Manikanth Kadri's Ithanai Yugamai, again sung by Karthik, but is instantly addictive and lilting. His other track, Hey Manohara, makes for a passable hip-hop mishmash in Blaaze and Pop Shalini's vocals. While Alphons Joseph's Kanna Neeyo (Sayanora) easily qualifies for the worst song in the soundtrack, it's Gowry Lekshmi's Sakhiye (Vijay Yesudas, Gopi Sundar, Shweta Mohan) that salvages it with a melodious tune that is reminiscent of A. R. Rahman (Malargale to be specific, which becomes evident at the line: Nyan Ariyunnu Ennodulla Nin Sneham...). Two melodies save this Casanovva from being an outright disaster!
