Music Review: The Dirty Picture

Music duo Vishal-Shekhar, who went unconventional with a chartbusting score in Ra. One, round-off the year by going retro. Ooh La La captures that quintessential 1980's magic, and with Bappi Lahiri and Shreya Ghoshal lending superb vocal support, the track bears the marks of a hit written all over it. Ishq Sufiyana (in two separate versions sung by Kamal Khan and Sunidhi Chauhan) takes an interesting 'contemporary' diversion and is characterised by a lilting-if-familiar qawwali'esque tune. Honeymoon Ki Raat and Twinkle Twinkle both give off a 80's disco vibe but are more situational given the movie's theme. Not one of the duo's best offerings, but nevertheless The Dirty Picture makes for quite an enjoyable throwback.
