Heavy Rotation: Anirudh Ravichander, M. Ghibran, Prashant Pillai & More

There is no two ways about it: Anirudh's Arabic Kuthu (Beast), with its faux-Arabic flourishes, is a foot-tapping banger led by Ravichander himself and Jonita Gandhi. The composer likewise scores big time with Naan Pizhai (Kaathuvaakula Rendu Kaadhal), a sweeping melody with pitch-perfect vocal support from Ravi G and Shashaa Tirupati. The other highlight is Rendu Kaadhal, a free-flowing ballad drowned in a sea of strings, even as Shakthisree Gopalan lends her characteristic charm to the plaintive piece.

Here's a playlist of my new Indian soundtrack favourites from Prashant Pillai (Kathir - Naandhaana Naan Needhaana, Nigazhe Sadhaa, Naan Pookalaalae Unnai), Nivas K. Prasanna (Oh My Dog - Engirundho Vandhaan), M. Ghibran (Koogle Kuttappa - Alai Alai, Sebastian P.C. 524 - Nee Kanulalo Daagundaa), Jay Krish (Ashoka Vanamlo Arjuna Kalyanam - Ee Veeduka), Mani Sharma (Bhala Thandhanana - Raasaanilaa, Tholi Choopu), A. R. Rahman (Heropanti 2 - Jalwanuma), Vishal-Sheykhar (Jayeshbhai Jordaar - Dheere Dheere Seekh Jaaunga, Dil Ki Gali), and Sachet-Parampara (Jersey - Jind Meriye)...
