Music Review: Oppam (Malayalam)

Chinnamma Adi is an ear-pleasing retro throwback sung by the ever-dependable M. G. Sreekumar, who bands with Najim Arshad and others for what's a forgettable mappila pattu that reeks of Mangalyam. Minungum Minnaminuge, thankfully, works better, even if it rides on a garden variety Ilaiyaraaja'esque melody that sounds cloyingly sweet. Chirimukilum is no different, but with less than satisfactory results that make it flat out boring. Oppam is your usual melodic fare, nothing more, nothing else.
