Music Review: Vaalu (Tamil)
Composer(s): S. Thaman
Listen to the songs online here: Raaga
The excessive use of auto-tuning aside, Engathaan Porantha sounds more like a Loosu Penne rework but a breezy listen it is all the same. Anirudh Ravichander and Andrea Jeremiah's enthusiastic rendition of Hey Vasom Vodka ensures it stays catchy all throughout. Thaman and auto-tune are synonymous, but that doesn't stop you from enjoying the insanely addictive and foot-tapping techno-kuthu Inky Pinky Inky Ponky. The same goes with Love Endravan Nee Yaruda... if one can excuse the regressive woman-bashing lyrics, even as Vaathiyaaru, like the title goes, ropes in STR's father T. Rajendar for a racy kuthu number. Predictable stuff from Thaman, yet Vaalu is adequately fun while it lasts.
