Kannamma, much like Soodhu Kavvum's Come Na Come, is absurd and wacky, and singers Rita and Andony Dasan lend perfect vocal backing. Ding Dong's (Mose, Arun Raja) hip-hop rap mix is instantly catchy, while the horns-driven Pandi Naatu Kodi (Andony Dasan, Karuvaayan) makes interesting use of kuthu beats in the interludes. Dhesayum Ezhandheney is quintessential Santhosh Narayanan and beautifully composed, with Meenakshi Iyer's resounding voice echoing crystal clear in the ambient melody. Sung by Santhosh himself and deftly mixing violins and guitars in the background, Baby is immensely bouncy, even if the tune reminds one of Sakalakala Vallavan's Ilamai Itho at places. The composer employs piano and violins to stunning effect in the mesmerizing Jigar and Pradeep Kumar, as always, delivers his part brilliantly. Of the three instrumentals, the guitar'y Thanda's dark sinister vibes, Ottam's lovely jazz hook, and Hoo Haa's addictive whistle-led arrangement all offer a myriad soundscape that's both fresh and enjoyable. Jigarthanda, Karthik Subbaraj and Santhosh Narayanan's second collaboration after Pizza, showcases music at its imaginative best. Santhosh, you rock!
