Music Review: Bombay Talkies (Hindi)
Composer(s): Amit Trivedi
Film: Bombay Talkies
The cinematic tribute to Amitabh Bachchan appropriately titled Bachchan (Sukhwinder Singh) is passable while Akkad Bakkad has the Amit Trivedi stamp all over it and backed by an interesting folk tune it's immensely likeable. Not to forget Mohit Chauhan's fabulous vocals either! Murabba, appearing in two versions (sung by Amit/Kavita Seth and Javed Bashir), offers a plethora of variation in terms of arrangements, even as the title song scores in its medley version far better for its nostalgic retro flourishes. Bombay Talkies is somewhat an disappointing outing from Amit Trivedi, that too for a film celebrating 100 years of cinema!
