Music Review: Tutiya Dil
Divya Kumar's spirited rendition works in favour of the Arabic-styled folk fusion Alak Niranjan, with composer Gulraj Singh (also the singer of Ik Junoon from Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara) following it up with another imaginative hip-hop laced folk piece Saiyaan that's equal parts spunky and trendy, with excellent help from Sayantani Das. Le Chalo's ear-pleasing acoustic melody rides on a Celtic soundbed that's excellently complemented by Jaswinder Singh and Meenal Jain, even as Satrangia Dil goes for a funky folk blend that Gulraj Singh himself delivers so well. The title song's catchy arrangement is a catchy amalgamation of multiple genres set against a rock-leaning template, while the techno-Punjabi piece Aag Lage, despite its run-of-the-mill structure, makes for a heady listen in Alamgir Khan's enthusiastic vocals. With Tutiya Dil, Gulraj Singh makes a smashing debut in his maiden Bollywood innings.
