Music Review: Yaanum Theeyavan (Tamil)
Composer(s): Achu Rajamani

Suchith Suresan's enthusiastic rendition works in favour of the breezy melody Nenjukulle. Nila Nila is even better, bolstered by a fantastic singing by Jithin Raj and Shweta Mohan, and a blissful semi-classical outro that we have by now come to associate with Achu. Aagayamey is the soundtrack's best, its serene minimalist soundscape (that sitar!) pitch-perfectly going hand-in-hand with Yaamini Ghantasala and Achu's flawless vocals. The dubstep-heavy title song and the intriguing The Rise of a Gangster, in contrast, are more situational pieces, but make no mistake, Achu's tryst with melody remains as intact as ever in Yaanum Theeyavan.
