Girishh Gopalakrishnan, in his return with Mookuthi Amman, crafts a standout classical-tinged piece in Paarthene that's rendered flawlessly by Jairam Balasubramanian (and Jayanthi Kumaresh on the veena), in what's otherwise a largely diegetic soundtrack — Carnatic exponent Aruna Sairam's playback singing debut Chandai Alangari is appositely feverish, if nondescript, among other Indian indie favourites from When Chai Met Toast (Ocean Tide), Mali (Mundane), Khwaab (Parchayi), Joshua K.
