Music Review: Aandavan Kattalai (Tamil)
Composer(s): K

It's to interesting to see how the Santhosh Narayanan brand of music has become de rigueur for anything quirky these days. K channels this very aspect in the offbeat 108 Thenga (folk), Gandhi Thatha (hip-hop/rap), Elandha Pazham, Polambing Song, Vaadagai Veedu (retro-jazz/waltz) and Yaaro Petha Pillai (alt-folk thathuva paadal!) but the results are moderately engaging at best. Led by Jananie, Kaarmegakuzhali is euphonious, as is K's penchant for strings in the lovely and vivacious Imsai Rani (Karthik) and Vaazhkai Oru Ottagam (Benny Dayal). K's melodies stand out in Aandavan Kattalai.
