Music Review: Dum Laga Ke Haisha (Hindi)

The Punjabi folk number title song is rather drab and sounds jaded despite Kailash Kher and Nooran Sisters's sprightly rendition. The same goes for Sunder Susheel; the tune just fails to click. Kumar Sanu does well in the short Aapke Pyaar Mein-like (from Raaz) 90's throwback number Tu and more so in the enjoyable Dard Karaara. And giving him company is Sadhana Sargam, sounding spectacular as ever. Moh Moh Ke Dhaage, sung beautifully by Papon and Monali Thakur in two separate versions, is a splendid semi-classical melody and the flute-shehnai combo works wonders. Papon appears for the second time and rules Prem's Theme, an aalaap-driven mellow guitar instrumental. Anu Malik makes a comeback of sorts with Dum Laga Ke Haisha!
