Music Review: Oru Kal Oru Kannadi

Adada Oru, sung by Karthik, mixes Harris's own Silu Silu Siluvena (Kovil) and Karu Karu (Pachaikili Muthucharam) but engaging it is all the same. Following his staid overused templates, Akila Akila samples Neruppe (Vettaiyaadu Vilaiyaadu), Yellae Lama (7aum Arivu)/Amali Thumali (Ko) and even Michael Jackson's Smooth Criminal at places, while Azhage Azhage is just about passable (by the way, it has a passing allusion to Engeyum Kaadhal's Thee Illai if you want are interested). Kaadhal Oru Butterfly, with its lovely interludes, is interestingly tuned and works very well, but again vaguely resembles Un Sirippinil (Pachaikili Muthucharam). The love failure track Venaam Macha (Naresh Iyer, Velmurugan) is a catchy dappan koothu and the lyrics are damn funny too. OK OK is strictly OK and it's high time Harris stops this rehash!
