Music Review: M. S. Dhoni - The Untold Story (Hindi)
Composer(s): Amaal Mallik, Rochak Kohli
Listen to the songs online here: Saavn, Saavn
Amaal Mallik's latest offering comes as a surprise. Not just because each of the stringy melodies Besabriyaan, Kaun Tujhe, Jab Tak (including its guitar'y redux version) and Phir Kabhi are beautifully tuned, but also for the simple reason that it shows Amaal Mallik is so much more than Sooraj Dooba Hain. Siddharth Basrur is his grungy self in the typical rock-tinged Parwah Nahi, but Padhoge Likhoge, despite its fun, folksy vibe, falls flat. Rochak Kohli's sole contribution arrives as Har Gully Mein Dhoni Hai and the rousing motivational song gets its perfect vocal fit in the man himself. M. S. Dhoni's music is a little familiar-sounding, but nonetheless works quite well.
