Tattoo Waaliye is that paint-by-numbers Punjabi club number complemented by a groovy, synthetic bassline that gains from a couple of listens, even as the song refuses to settle for any one mode, blending urban sounds and folky instrumentation with catchy results. The title song, led by Bohemia and Siddharth Mahadevan's spirited singing, infuses different beats together, and is punctuated by bombastic drops and seismic pace shifts that marries contemporary instrumentation with a folk-ish tune, while Dhik Chik mines its energy from Mika Singh and Sunidhi Chauhan, whose vocals provide a lovely counterpoint to the fun, rhythmic track. The highlight arrives in the form of Love Ju, which finds Arijit Singh crooning the buoyant electronic-folk medley with his characteristic flair, before it builds into something more ecstatic. The trio of Shankar Mahadevan, Ehsaan Noorani and Loy Mendonsa fail to match up to the freshness of the original. The lack of originality aside, Bunty Aur Babli 2 manages to a deliver a satisfying fusion of sorts.
