Listen: Yumi Zouma's "Lonely After" (Alternate Version)

Yumi Zouma debuted their first studio album Truth or Consequences earlier this March, right around the start of the pandemic, and in the intervening months of isolation, the New Zealand dream-pop purveyors found a way to "re-contextualise" the songs from their maiden effort "amidst the tragedy and fear going on in the world outside our windows." The result is a collection of alternate versions that "reflect our feelings of optimism, helplessness, and a desire to keep exploring," a fact best exemplified by Lonely After even as it swaps the original's breezy vibe for something equally addictive.
