Listen: Julianna Barwick's "Oh, Memory" ft. Mary Lattimore

Julianna Barwick's new album Healing Is a Miracle stays true to its title, working well as an entrancing exercise in computer-generated soundscapes, with the singer-songwriter expanding her palette of instrumental and ambient sounds to craft an airborne, drifting listening experience that's at once ethereal and transcendent. Vocal loops and soaring a cappella chorus interweave dextrously and harmoniously with the other instrumentation at play to create a pristine, dream-like atmosphere that has a hymnal effect to it (Safe), even as she ropes in Mary Lattimore to add a sprinkle of twinkling harp over Oh, Memory. It's a wonderful, therapeutic escape from reality. If music can be a balm, this is it.
