Music Review: Nenjam Marappathillai (Tamil)
Composer(s): Yuvan Shankar Raja

Good Bad & Ugly is wonderfully creepy sounding, its soft lullaby-like intro belying the thunderous orchestral outpour that follows. There is so much to love in Kannungala Chellangala, a track punctuated by a gorgeous horns-laden arrangement, but Yuvan's singing is not one of them. So is the retro'ish Maalai Varum Vennila, where he is accompanied by Dhanush. En Pondaati Ooruku Poita unleashes the euphoria a husband feels when he realises he is going to be alone at home, without having to worry about his nagging wife. The orchestration is suitably frenetic too. Nenjam Marappathillai marks the true return of Yuvan Shankar Raja after a very long time; if only he hadn't sung them!
