Music Review: Rekka (Tamil)
Composer(s): D. Imman

Furious Wings, the theme song, is an apt, massy mix of trombones and guitars, while Virru Virru is customary kuthu, marginally made interesting by Imman's Ilaiyaraaja-like folk touch. The unmistakable Raja influences continue in the guitar'y Pollapaiyya (Haricharan, Shweta Mohan) and the strings-laden ballad Kanna Kaattu Podhum, but the songs themselves struggle to stand out. Kannamma however is beyond fantastic, the nadaswaram-laden melody gaining immensely from Nandini Srikar's phenomenal singing. Rekka is one of the better soundtracks from Imman this year, although that's not saying much.
