Music Review: Kadalai (Tamil)
Composer(s): Sam C. S.

Oththa Mazhayila is so gorgeously composed, a listen to its karaoke version is warranted. Adding to the sheer beauty of the rustic melody is Hariharan, whose heart-melting voice takes the song to an altogether new high. Kannukkulla Vanthu is wacky fun - its abrupt switch to Hindi lyrics in particular - and composer Sam C. S. and Nincy have a ball singing it. So is Aayava Kanom, a mighty imaginative techno-kuthu commendably sung by Ma Ka Pa Anandh. Heavy percussion adorns the immensely likeable Shweta Mohan-sung melody Aathankara, a musical trait that takes centre stage in the motivational album closer Ver Varai (Haricharan Seshadri). Sam C. S. shows he is here to stay with his sophomore outing Kadalai.
