Madboy/Mink's retro-styled Calcutta Kiss (Imaad Shah, Saba Azad) is groovy, jazzy and simply foot-tapping. Sneha Khanwalkar rocks the racy and riveting Bach Ke Bakshy, concocting an arresting assortment of sounds, especially that heart-pounding percussion, like only she can. The indie-alternative-rock tune of Blek's Byomkesh in Love has everything going for it and the added classical touch (superb singing by Usri Banerjee) is a masterstroke. Peter Cat Recording Co.'s Jaanam is mighty enjoyable, thanks to its alluring retro-jazz base, while the grunge-rock pieces Chase in Chinatown (Mode AKA) and Life's a Bitch (Joint Family) are appositely heavy-metal. Yang Guang Lives, composed by IJA, is intriguing as much as exciting, sprinkling the tune generously with chimes and ominous sounds as it closes on a high. Detective Byomkesh Bakshy! is eclectic, engrossing, unconventional and absolutely satiates your aural cravings!
