Music Review: Players

Jis Jagah Pe Khatam, sung by his staple, Neeraj Shridhar, along with Siddharth Basrur and Mauli Dave, is catchy and works as a perfect dance floor material. Retro and futuristic respectively in their arrangements, Kyun Dooriyan (Jhoom Jhoom Ta Ja) (Ritu Pathak) and Ho Gayi Tun (Yashita Yashpal, Bob) offer contrasting diversions, but the results are just about middling. While Buddhi Do Bhagwaan (Shruti Pathak) is bland and forgettable, Dil Ye Bekarar Kyun is the opposite — melodious and backed by great singing from Mohit Chauhan and Shreya Ghoshal. Its Reprise version works equally well, coasting along phenomenal vocals from Nikhil D'Souza and Priyani Vani. After the forgettable Mausam and Desi Boyz, Pritam treads a tried-and-tested territory that doesn't get beyond his explored realms.
